Matthew Jones first displayed his precocious talent in the FA Premiership with Leeds United before moving to Filbert Street last season. Born in Llanelli, he showed a versatility at Elland Road that has placed him in every out-field position on the pitch for the junior and reserve teams. But it is as a talented midfielder that he has earned his place in Mark Hughes\'s international squads. Voted Welsh Young Player of the Year last year, he made his international debut against Switzerland last October, having captained the Under 21\'s on the previous evening. Unfortunately, an injury to the cruciate ligament last month wil side-line him for the remainder of the season. |
